Peiris facilitated a collective of women coconut fiber workers in a village in southern Sri Lanka, until the success of her work made her redundant. She not only relates a true success story based on her own trial and errors; she vividly describes how top-down teaching approaches can be unlearned and new forms of learning can result in authentic participation in development processes.
