Throughout these pages, the lives of Sindo Garay, Compay Segundo, Adalberto Alvarez, Arsenio Rodriguez, Benny Moré, Chano Pozo, Felix Chapotín, Ibrahim Ferrer, José Luis Cortés, Miguel Matamoros, Ñico Saquito, Omara Portuondo, Cachaíto Lopez, Pancho "El Bravo," Polo Montañez, Puntillita, Rubén González, and Tata Güines are explored. The companion audio CD provides examples of the vibrant music these artists create.
