Old Newcastle is a delightful pictorial history of one of the most popular and beautiful seaside resorts in Northern Ireland. The images within this title date from between 1900 and the early 1960s and include the Main Street in the 1920s, the promenade, the Mountains of Mourne, Royal County Down Golf Club, an aerial photograph of Newcastle in the 1930s and the Newcastle railway station. Also include are the Slieve Donard Hotel, Newcastle Harbour, the 36th (Ulster) Division of Lord Kitchner s army at Ballykinlar camp and a wonderful photograph of Harry Ferguson, who was the pioneer of flying in Ireland, beside one of his planes.
