An aerial photograph of Dumbarton Rock and Castle, with shipyards behind it, encapsulates two important aspects of the town's history in one. There are pictures of a variety of Dumbarton's factories and yards, and a shot of the steamer TSS Queen Mary II, built in the town. Glasgow Road, Church Street, Castle Street, High Street, and lost buildings such as the Cosy Corner Cafe on Bridge Street, are all featured. Local schools, some of the big houses built by the Victorian industrialists, the hospital and Levengrove Park are among some of the other pictures included.
