Infrared (IR) thermography is a relatively new approach to nondestructive testing that uses invisible thermal radiation to detect changes in material properties. This monograph is a collection of perspectives on the subject from industries, institutes, and universities in seven countries. The first part explores IR fundamentals, including the theory and common instrumentation behind the use of the technique. The majority of the volume is devoted to IR applications in a wide variety of fields, including construction, electronics, nuclear power, aerospace, and medicine.
