Hilma Contreras Entre des silencious is an exciting new collection from an interesting author. Indeed, the issues which Contreras presents, as well as the liberty and stylistic devices which she employs, mark her as a writer of the first rank, not only in her own country but in the rest of the Caribbean and Latin America. There is an elusive, surreal quality to many of the pieces in the collection which is sure to fascinate readers, especially those unfamiliar Spanish Caribbean writing.
