Five siblings ? Cyril, Anthea, Robert, Jane, and their baby brother, known as the Lamb ? growing up in Victorian England stumble upon a magical creature, a rather grumpy, ugly, and occasionally malevolent Psammead, a sand-fairy, who grants them a wish a day.
