The purpose of this book is to provide the reader with a selective explanation of significant parts of the central areas of German substantive law. Each chapter combines this analysis along with original German legal material, including extracts from the Basic Law, the Civil and Criminal Codes and judgments of German courts. The original German material is accompanied by an English translation. The book is designed to be completely comprehensible to the reader who does not understand German.
